Imagine if there was somewhere you could completely ‘stand down’

Somewhere where you could offload all of that stuff you’re carrying – safely and securely and work through it, at your own pace, alongside someone who ‘gets it’.

There is!

Blue Light Counselling with me, Sharon Williams, offers you a bespoke counselling therapy service to help you get back on track.

You are exposed to daily stress, pressure, trauma and violence so it is essential that you need a supporting service that understands just where you are coming from and I am exactly that.

An ex-police officer who has worked with fire and ambulance emergency services, someone who really understands.

A therapist who is not focused solely on your return to work and providing a sticking plaster until the next time.

I am dedicated to YOU. To get your life/work balance just right, because it is YOU that is most important.

  • In my therapy room which is located in Lincoln city centre. It is discreet, secure, relaxed and private. I will meet you in the foyer and welcome you to my counselling space. We can then get to work on what you would like to get out of counselling and explore the emotions and feelings that come alongside your unique experience.

  • Having counselling sessions online is another option for you. This way could be more convenient for you to fit into your busy life or if you’re feeling apprehensive about meeting for therapy in person. If you’re unable to get to Lincoln for sessions or you work or live in a completely different area, this option will be ideal for you.

Just like the in-person sessions, I will be there to welcome you to Blue Light Counselling and guide you through the entire process in a safe space and independent environment.

  • I am trained in a wide range of counselling theories and modalities. I am able to tailor the service to your individual needs. I also provide BrainWorking Recursive Therapy (BWRT) and Auricular Therapy.

Work with a therapist that knows where you’re coming from and that can help get you back on track.

“It is so good to talk to someone who’s got the knowledge and experience that only a select few can have. I felt supported and listened to and knowing that the sessions were open-ended, it massively took the pressure off.  I feel like I’ve turned a corner and I’m ready for what’s to come next.” - WJ

“You have always had my back.  I will never ever be able to pay you your true worth because no amount would ever be enough. Thank you for your support.” - BK

  • Sigmund Freud (Neurologist and founder of psychoanalysis) started the 50-minute sessions over one hundred years ago.

There are practical reasons such as record updating after the session in time for the next client. But, psychologically, it has its reasons too. You can read more about this in my blog post ‘Why are Therapy Sessions 50 Minutes Long?’

  • Sessions are weekly as standard practice, but if there is a clinical need, and it is agreed with your therapist, sessions could be more frequent.

Regular sessions allow for a period of reflection and development on a regular basis.

  • Blue Light Counselling is in a discreet location at The Terrace, Grantham Street, Lincoln LN2 1BD. It is the same building where Cafe Portico is.

  • Yes of course! Contact me to book a discovery call for a free, no-obligation, informal chat at a mutually convenient time.

  • No. The only time that this may be a requirement is if there is a legal obligation to disclose information or Blue Light Counselling believed that you - or another - were at risk of immediate danger or harm. If this was to happen, you will be notified in the first instance.

  • That’s not a problem. Just let Blue Light Counselling know as early as possible.

If you reschedule your session for another time in the near future, there will be no charge. If you don’t show up for your agreed counselling session time, your fee will be retained and you will lose that booked session.

  • Of course. This is easier for some people to manage their money. For example, on payday, they would like to book the sessions for the month until the next payday.
